Noel Stanley - R. I. P.
Noel Stanley passed away today. Noel played bass for Ernest Tubb before joining Jack Greene and the Jolly Green Giants. He was a great friend and we will miss him very much. Many great fun times were shared with him and wonderful memories of our many get togethers.
Our thoughts and prayers are with his wife, Carleen and his family.

Noel
I had the pleasure to work with Noel for over 20 years with the Texas Throwdown Band. A better friend could not be had. Jimmy Dry as well, has departed. Man, we had a lot of fun together for all those years.
May God rest his soul and comfort his remaining family and friends.

Mr. Stanley was a truly great person, sorry to see that he has passed, we were great friends in the '70s and I respected him greatly for his love of life and fairness he showed all. This was demonstrated by his joining the Hendersonville Aux Police force in the early seventies, several musicians did this, Josh Graves Jr. and I think the great Ron Elliot did also. Didn't pay any money but it was nice to see a great well known musician face his civic dutys for the right reasons.
A great guy.
